Who says bodegas needs to be dark and shady?
We completely reinvented the image of this local business in Downtown Los Angeles, designing a sunny bodega for a sunny place, what a fun experience!
To define this colorful, little pearl we focused our efforts to increase the storage space by designing built-in shelves embedded in the space, including the huge windows which we took full advance of! All the wood in the store is natural maple, which limited the number of chemicals used to finish the furniture directly in contact with perishable items, all the shelving features integrated light while for the rest of the store we powder coated in a light pea green the metal shelving, matching the custom made counter in metal sheet.
All the rest is yellow, including the wall grout, which makes it light and easy to clean environment thanks to the use of 4x4” subway white tiles, a must in a bodega.
